PROPERTY TAX, TAX SALE, ASSESSMENT INFORMATION

2024 PROPERTY TAX:


DUE THURSDAY OCTOBER 31ST, 2024
 

Payments Accepted at the RM office; 
Cash, Cheques, Money Order/Bank Draft, Online Banking (Access Credit Union Only), E-Transfers payments to cao@rmofarmstrong.com. We DO NOT accept Credit or Debit Cards payments.

Penalties of 1.25% will be applied on the 1st of each month on any outstanding balance starting November 1, 2024

 Tax Sale – Property tax that are in arrears of two years will go to Tax Sale. Tax Sale Auctions are held once a year. All properties with 2022 and prior arrears, of any amount are eligible to be sold at our next Tax Sale scheduled for ___________________.


ASSESSMENT INFORMATION

There are 2 Principal factors that determine the amount of property tax.

         1. Assessment - Market value of your property based on 2 years prior.  The assessment is determined by the Provincial Assessment Office.

         2. Mill Rate - Determined by the Municipality when the current year's budget is developed.  Questions relates to assessment on your property please contact Assessment Branch in Selkirk toll free at 1-866-262-9786 or 204-785-5092


PROPERTY ASSESSMENT INFORMATION AVAILABLE ONLINE

Manitoba's property assessment services are now digitally available. Property owners outside the City of Winnipeg can access their assessment notice by creating an account on the MyPropertyMB digital portal.

Through the portal, property owners have access to enhanced details of their property assessment, such as buildings assessed on their property, characteristics including building age, size, and features that impact the assessed value.
